HVD 2.0 release
Guidance organized by role
HashiCorp Validated Designs are now organized into three new guide types making them easier to navigate and use.
Previously, the guidance for each product was spread across a Solution Design Guide and a set of Operating Guides organized by maturity stage: Adoption, Standardization, and Scaling. The guides are now organized around what you're trying to do:
| Guide | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Installation Guide | Reference architecture, design decisions, and deployment — what your platform team needs to stand up the system correctly the first time. |
| Administration Guide | Ongoing operation of a running deployment — the tasks your platform or operations team performs after go-live to keep the system healthy, secure, and up to date. |
| User Guide | Working with the system day-to-day — the workflows and use cases for the teams who consume the platform to do their jobs. |
If you've used these guides before, the content you relied on is still here, but has now moved into the guide that matches the work it supports. If you are setting up an enterprise product for the first time, refer to the installation guide. If you're operating, or managing the solution, use the administration guide. If you're consuming solution capabilities, refer to the user guide.
Generally, the Installation Guide replaces the Solution Design Guide. The Administration and User Guides together replace the Operating Guides, with operational setup in the Administration Guide and consumption use cases in the User Guide.
As part of this update, HashiCorp Validated Designs are now included in the site-wide search index. You can search for content using the search bar at the top of this page.
